'Handsy' rider: Sevada Bandari, 30, has been charged with sexual battery for allegedly groping a female Uber driver 


A California man has been arrested after police say he sexually assaulted his female Uber driver over the weekend.

According to investigators, the 23-year-old driver picked up Sevada Bandari, 30, at around 2am on Saturday near Moorpark Street and Van Nuys Boulevard in Studio City.

During the ride to an address in Glendale, Bandari allegedly began groping the woman over her clothing.

The 23-year-old repeatedly told her passenger to stop touching her but he allegedly ignored her pleas and carried on with the assault.

Upon reaching their destination in the 1300 block of Irving Avenue, agen bandarqq the driver called 911 and reported the incident.

Officers who responded to the call tracked down Bandari at a small house party and took him into custody on a charge of sexual battery.






Police say the 23-year-old woman picked up Bandari in the area of Moorpark Street and Van Nuys Boulevard in Studio City (pictured) early Saturday morning 







When they reached their destination n the 1300 block of Irving Avenue (pictured), the driver called 911 to report the alleged sexual assault 


Bandari was released from jail just hours later after posting $20,000 bail, reported LA Weekly. He is due back in court on January 5.

Since the car-sharing company was launched in 2009, there have been multiple incidents worldwide involving Uber drivers committing serious criminal offenses, including murder, rape, assault and kidnapping.

But there also have been reports of Uber drivers being victimized by their passengers.

Just last week, a former Taco Bell executive was sentenced to jail time after he was caught on video drunkenly attacking his Uber driver in California.
